ERHC Welcomes Government Leaders of Sao Tome to the United States

LAFAYETTE, La., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Remediation Holding Corp. (ERHC) (OTC Bulletin Board: ERHC - news) will host a government delegation from the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe (DRSTP) from November 12th through November 21st, 1997.

The group will make three stops across the United States, including New York City, Lafayette, La., and Washington, D.C.

The DRSTP's Prime Minister and Chief, The Honorable Raul Braganca Neto, will head the delegation of eleven members, which includes the Minister of Social and Environmental Affairs, and the Director of ENCO, the national oil company.

The delegation is visiting the United States at the invitation of ERHC. Last June, ERHC, a publicly-traded company, entered into a joint venture with the government of Sao Tome and Principe for the development of the country's oil and gas reserves.

The delegation will be in New York from November 12-15 to meet with the United Nations and discuss the establishment of the country's exclusive economic zone. They will also discuss the requisite coordinate filings with the Secretary General of the United Nations to establish the country's oil and gas concession rights.

The delegation will then visit the headquarters of ERHC in Lafayette, La. and review ERHC's various oil and gas-related projects.

On Monday, November 17, the delegation will fly to Washington, D. C., where meetings are scheduled with the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Defense Department and various other U.S. agencies, including [international] banking officials, the World Bank and other government representatives.

The country of Sao Tome and Principe is an independent country comprised of four islands that straddle the equator in the Atlantic Ocean, off the West Coast of Africa. It is strategically located in the ''heart of the arc'' of the Gulf of Guinea, which extends from La Cote D'Ivorie to Angola.

The main island of Sao Tome is approximately 290 km from the mainland of Africa. The island of Principe lies approximately 150km north of Sao Tome.

The Gulf of Guinea has become one of the most active exploration and production areas for oil and gas in the African continent. The former Portuguese colony is one of the last countries in the area to begin oil and gas exploration.

Environmental Remediation Holding Corp. is engaged in oil and gas production activities and environmental remediation, both domestically and internationally. Through a series of acquisitions, the company has formed a unique, full service organization dedicated to providing oil and gas related services to major oil companies and government institutions.

This includes the development and rework of oil and gas properties, plug and abandonment services (P&A), environmental engineering and consultation, hazardous waste management (including NORM waste), non hazardous waste clean- up, transportation and disposal, and the manufacture and distribution of waste clean-up materials. The company's stock is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol ''ERHC'' and is listed in Standard & Poor's Corporate Records.
