Hi all, and thanks for the welcome,

Would invite all fence sitters to consider-I had a very small position in ftel until about 2 months ago. That position has grown rather dramatically as of late. The reason for me certainly has been what's been said so well here, as well as my own dd, but the main factor has had to do with the absolute chaos in the foriegn markets. The popular wisdom for years has been "Invest in foriegn markets as part of your portfolio as it mitigates risk and acts as a hedge during down domestic markets. I would submit that whats happened in the Pac Rim, Europe, Russia and the new European markets, and the US over the last little while has seriously called into question the "popular wisdom"
What to do? For me the answer has been issues like ftel. These types of companies provide an emerging market, without currency risk, with easily acsessible info, and a float in a market place regulated.
They would also seem rather insulated from some of the influences so
dramatically effecting world markets.
All I know is a lot of my money formerly residing in Hong Kong is now living in Westlake. So if you have any money left in your international holdings, like emerging markets and are looking for a possible hedge, hey have I got a stock for you. And SolieRa (sp?) if you ain't nervous you ain't invested.
