Lots of folks are spared light. We were spared WWIII so far only thanks to the nukes, which turn any new world war into a murder-suicide mission. WWII was pretty hideous in every Nazi occupied country including Ukraine. Many Ukranians fought courageously only to find their entire villages destroyed by Hitler's scorched Earth policy. Others joined the Nazi and surrendered the Jews. You sure the World is sane enough this time? I'm not. The World and the people did not change much. We have declining American Economic Empire (based on fiat USD) and the tensions are exactly the same as they were throughout history.
