They were able to understand witches which is why we are relatively safe from witches today..witches having a bit more flesh on them than ghosts, apparently, and easier to draw and quarter. And thank God there were Great and Good people who had the common sense not to insist on proof. We don't need damn witches making secret deals with Old Scratch. And there weren't never a damn witch yet what wasn't in league with the Deevil. I don't need no damn scientist to inform my opinion about That.
