kyrosl, depreciating usd is not a win, cannot be a win, and is a lose.

devaluing usd shall not serve the interest of the little fellows and fellowettes, and would not hurt the elites in any way.

the elites get hurt only by way of revolution, by losing heads and gushing blood.

mind experiment: dollar falls by 50% against all other currencies, and falls by 80% against gold ...

the elites would repatriate a drab of what they have offshore and buy your newly crushed assets at newly cheapened exchange rate because you need to redeem and pay for more expensive but still value-packed imports.

the only difference being you would be trading in your bmw for tata motors mini car or geely suv.

the sort of manufacturing you are thinking of would not be returning to the usa until after the revolution, because in order to do such manufacturing, team usa must undergo a 50-70% devaluation against all currencies, a 80-98% devaluation against getgold, and undergo a 70-80% reduction in nominal pay, plus reduction of transfer payments by 70% and reduce the structure of empire by 90%.

if so, how would a usa elite lose? he who would be buying a small town for a few bobs of gold. the elite would win huge, unless of course he is revolutionized.

the gold holding usa elite can already buy a few hundred detroit homes for not a whole lot of gold. he is not doing so because he is in process to machinate the laws so that the tax burden on that mass purchase could be suitably reduced, or even made negative, meaning he gets paid for buying those homes by way of govt (read, your tax dollars) incentives.

we are not even close yet to teotwawki day.
