Yes that telephone line coming into the house carries a lot of junk with it. One "big" antenna. Good point! You could design a section of the motherboard to just hold the modem and isolate it from the other circuitry or how about a small daughterboard that plugs into the motherboard? Well isn't that why the motherboard has slots? Or you could take the modem chip and design a Multichip Module (MCM) and place those power components inside the MCM. Then attach the MCM to the motherboard. There is only one problem, and that is cost, it would be prohibitive. I just can't see this happening and welcome any response from anyone who can show us how to get around the inherit problems of placing a modem chip on the motherboard. Derek
