The authors present a very interesting hypothesis. But why does it drive them to conclude that design (creation) is the best answer? If we accept the "measurability" concept as presented (and I am not sure that I do), wouldn't a simple application of Occam's Chainsaw(tm) favor the answer "we're just lucky"?

To me, supposing a magnificent randomness to our natural surroundings makes it more beautiful.
