The Next Credit Crisis? Munis . Debtholders Are Left Steamed as Some Cities Forgo Repayment Promises Yup. That's what makes the monolines real dangerous.....they are getting it from both sides.......their core businesses which is municipal debt and from housing, a market they unfortunately decided to enter after 2000.
