I love fruit. Never found it to be fattening. It is packaged with the "antidote" to the fructose- namely all that fiber. You've seen the studies on that, I hope. I know there are some hard core grain avoiders around, but that may be an individual thing. My girls are quite thin, and they eat a diet rich in veggies, whole grains, meat and dairy (and our meat and dairy is mostly grass fed, organic)- and we use whole milk, cream top, non homogenized. Love the butter. Eat a lot of it. And we just keep getting trimmer. Not worried about fruit, though. Papayas, kiwis, mangoes, tomatoes, squash- love them.

I'm a fan of pork chops as well.

But vegetarians and other folks who avoid fast food do a hell of a lot better, health wise, than the porkers who line up for the drive through, or who eat out for "homestyle" meals. So while I would not choose to be a vegetarian, I never have met a fat one... Have you ever met fat vegetarians? I judge a diet, and a restaurant, partly by how the people eating at the restaurant, or following the diet, look.

Now excuse me while I go eat my salmon salad.
