I will restrict myself here to the biochemistry of sugars, very diverse compounds necessary to every living cell. What sugars could be abiotically sourced? Which ones needed enzymatic biology to be formed and used? Organic chemists (my profession) don't begin to know these things. In order to draw that unbroken line, a full theory of the genesis and evolution of sugars as articles of cellular commerce will need to be devised and tested. That theory is a necessary thing and only a small fraction of the interlocking puzzles of biological chemistry still awaiting answers. A decade? Emphatically no.
