LJ If you read Leviticus in the Bible you will see where all the religious patriots get their information on gays... homosexuality to be specific. Whenever there is a person who takes a strong stand against gays this Chapter of the Old Testament is quoted. AND as far as other countries. They differ in their offering civil rights to gays. I come from the position of civil rights... in the Constitution. You would be surprised and I can research it for you how many countries allow marriage between persons of the same sex. AND how many allow gays to serve openly in the military. However it's pure bigotry emanating primarily from Biblical thinking that influences all of our thinking on these matters. The fact that we can even have this discussion tells me that you are not a church goer as I see in both States where I live. NC is the most egregious on matters of sex and religion as the Southern Baptists a strong opponent of both positions on gays have the majority of churches there. Not that you don't go to church but it apparently is not the center of your life which it is with so many persons I know.
