Would you not consider the revolutionary developments in microelectronics technology which made possible concomitant progress in software and computers as exponential growth? Chip density has been doubling every two years for decades following what is known as Moore's Law... Chips containing more that a billion transistors are now commercial. As you sit in front of your lap top or desk computer give it a thought...
