42 mpg? another piece of GM crap. GM, all marketing & no function. why not promote the volt? a good car, if you never go anywhere but to work or the grocery store? another GM pos!

my 2002 honda insight gets 60 mpg (original purchase price, new, $13,500. on sale as they almost had to give it away, no one interested in hybrid cars in 2002 :o)

my other 2006 insight (manual trans) gets over 70 mpg /
(one day using hypermiling technique i got 100 mpg for 40 miles, if i use less aggressive hypermiling techniques,, i can get 90 mpg routinely. purchase price used $15K w/ 15K miles)

we also have two twin (mr & mrs), 2010 prius, they get ~ 50-60 mpg. purchase price new ~30K each w/ solar pkg sun roofs, etc.

gee, in another 10 years maybe GM mileage will start to improve and GM may become competitive?

it could happen
