Media starting campaign to split Republican voter coalition. They're attempting to turn those focused on 'social issues' against the newly elected tea party members of congress. The latter's mandate from the people is to focus on the economy and reverse ObamaCare.

Dems thru the media want instead for Repubs to turn their focus to Social Sec or any other social issue that has the potential to cause infighting among Repub voters.

Repubs need to keep their eyes on the economic ball, in order to reverse all the damage socialist libs have wrought on the free markets that made the US prosperous for centuries.

Beware of topics like Social Security where Repubs have a difficult time NOT being the adults in the room. The Dems encourage a discussion of that issue whenever they need to beat Repubs back into a minority position in Congress. They'll pretend interest in 'fixing the problem' - then when it's time for a vote, Nancy will tell all Dems to vote NO to Soc Sec changes...that will leave Repubs swinging in the wind as the diabolical members of congress who dare to suggest changes must be implemented asap. It's not called the third rail of politics for no reason - touch it and you are zapped out of a congressional seat so quickly it makes everyones' heads spin.

Newly elected Tea Party candidates know what the people want (which is focus on economic issues..NOT social) They've just had an in-depth conversation with their constituents - Therefore, they are going to attempt to deflect away from the Democrats duplicitous preferred course of action towards a Soc Sec debate and ultimate vote. If the latter occurs, Dems will pull the promised 'cooperation' vote from under Repubs at the last moment, the latter will then be left holding the bag and facing the anger of their voters.
