I have sold several thousand shares of my coke recently, Simon. Would I buy coke at the current price in this market? no. Will I sell all my coke? no. As a longterm investor with a large holding in coke, i also have to consider what i would invest in should i sell a big chunk of my coke shares. There are some good techs and i have bought them but there is still some question whether these companies will in the longrun provide as much stability and growth as the coke i have now. Everyone needs to evaluate their individual situations when investing as i'm sure you know. As to psychobabble -- you don't apparently know the definition of this term which refers to inane and oversimplified catch phrases used to render banal all deep human emotions or complex human situations, i.e. "meaningful relationship", achieving "closure", etc. If you think that there are no intangibles in the valuation of a stock, then you're going to miss many opportunities to make money. Well, you obviously missed the coke ride in the '90's. I see no fundamental change in the company to warrant a mass exodus for anyone with a longterm position. Anyone who expects a steady 17% annual growth rate for any company is bound to be disappointed and clearly has no historical insight. Of course, you may believe in the new paradigm. Hope you've invested in some good young companies and can experience the great returns i've had with coke. good luck.
