Some of those tea party advocates are also receiving subsidies. Case in point - the Republican in MO who beat Ike Skelton.

Did she vote for those subsidies?

Would she vote to eliminate those subsidies?

Those are the important questions.

If one is a farmer and the other competing farmers take subsidies, then the government policy puts farmers who don't take subsidies at a competitive disadvantage. Thus perpetuating the subsidy cycle.

The various subsidies in the business world has the effect of having the government selecting which businesses succeed and which businesses fail. This is the opposite of a free market.
