My point is that history is full of folks preaching "solutions" from small, atypical communities and declaring them to be the great salvation for all of mankind.

If any of them had ever won over enough converts and implemented their system on a much larger stage and succeeded in creating the nirvana they promise, I might be more interested in the sloganeering.

I see no evidence of that despite an endless number of attempts by the self-righteous throughout the ages. Why doesn't the message sell if it's so compelling?

I know, it's all the fault of the ignorant and unwashed who don't appreciate your virtue. The whole story line is familiar and worn out.
