The Dominoes Are Toppling....the euro area's sovereign debt crisis enters a new phase as a result of the uncertainty created by the Merkel-Sarkozy plan regarding the so-called 'Stability Pact'. Aside from the fact that this has increased the pressure on peripheral sovereignsm, it makes sense to finally invite bondholders to 'share the pain'. The constant interference by governments in market processes is what has ultimately led to the current juncture. The policy of moral hazard must end.
