Typical Slime Ball Tactics of an American Corporation:

ADT Security Services:

We signed a 3 year agreement with ADT Home Security Systems about 21 months ago. Written into this agreement was an important term and condition, related to "Increases in Charges":

I quote:

"We have the right to increase the annual service charge at any time after the first year. If you give us a written objection to the increase within 30 days of your receipt of notice of the increase, and if we do not waive the increase, then you may terminate the Contract effective thirty days after our receipt of your written notice of termination. In this situation, you will not have to pay the early termination charges described in paragraph 2."

Needless to say, when I called ADT this morning to object to the increase, they immediately took it off. The woman (customer service agent) laughed saying she knows all about that provision, but hardly anyone keeps that original contract anymore.

A certified letter in writing will be sent today to ADT offices in Aurora, CO.
