Re: "parse and redirect attention to avoid answering."
"Parse"? --- Often!
"Redirect" --- Seldom.
"avoid answering" --- almost NEVER! Far more common for others to never even try to answer my questions, all while peppering me with more and more of their own repeated questions. At that point-in-time I might well refuse to answer any more from them (without reciprocity!) but not before that.
Re: I do NOT favor majority/"democratic" rule when, for example, non-contributing voters including welfare recipients, criminals to include politicians,"
A). So, 'non-contributing'... you are "old fashioned" enough to want to go back to the (very) limited form of "democracy" we practiced at our founding when only wealthy landowners had the vote? (Also: no women or non-whites nor even certain religious minorities need apply... but I fear even posing those extra questions to you, Rattler....) Just WHO decides who is 'contributing' and who is not?
B) Re: "welfare recipients" ---Does corporate welfare count in that formulation of yours? How about welfare to multi-millionaire farmers, say? Tax preference items?
Re: and "illegals" can vote to...
I am with you in saying that non-citizens should not have any legal right to vote in our elections.
Fortunately they DON'T.
Re: And of course communist nations mis-labeling themselves "democratic."
I too am opposed to politicians who lie about themselves (even foreign ones). Can't do much about the foreigner liars though other then to ignore them &/or oppose them, or just plain LAUGH at them. :-)
Re: "Now Buddy please answer the questions you ignored and quoted below,"
There were NONE that I 'ignored'.
These were NEVER ASKED BEFORE. (What, do you live in some sort of alternate universe or something where different things might have happened to some different 'Buddy'? If not then PLS try to find WHERE these questions were ever 'asked before'. Not there? Then I believe you owe an apology for making a false charge.)
Re: "if you feel you don't want to answer these questions, why not?"
Relax. No problem! First time asked, first time answered! No sweat.
Re: 1) "Do you find any personal, ethical, political or economic flaws in Soros"
Well, HELL... *EVERYONE* has some of those! You do, I do, everyone else on this thread does... so I pretty certain that, (although we've never met) Soros must too!
RE: "that might cause you to question the sincerity of his professed/underlying motivations?"
I ALWAYS question the publicly-expressed claims of EVERY INVESTOR! And I *always* expect that their main 'motivation' is self-interest!
Re: 2) ".. may I assume that you are philosophically... what we understand to be, “progressive”?
It's a mostly free world so you are free to 'assume' most anything that you want to, but since I don't even know what that word means in any kind of a meaningful context I would not apply it to my own belief system.
Since you ask, and while I am *not* a very big fan of simplistic labeling schemes (and almost NEVER use them myself) I will try to boil down my political beliefs into as short a label as I can think of for you. I consider myself to be:
A strong fiscal conservative, a social liberal, and hold many Libertarian principles very dearly.
(Does that help any? Sorry but I can't shrink that down to a one word label....)
Re: "If not, why do you invariably seem to support their talking points?"
<Only a guess...> it must 'seem' that way to YOU only because you are not paying very close attention.... See ABOVE again. For example, are *you* a 'fiscal liberal' since you don't support an immediate passage of a Balanced Budget amendment to the federal Constitution like I do? |
