Let's see.... At first, Sun totally denied lifting any code. Then, they said, "so what?, everyone optimizes for benchmarks, however maintaining that they didn't lift any code from the benchmark." Now they admit lifting the code, with this qualifier:

A Sun public relations manager called the episode a "big-time organizational breakdown" in which an engineering prototype that was never meant to go public was posted on the Web with all attendant documentation, along with a press release that touted the software's performance.

Now Charles, this kind of BS is due cause for a ROTFL! Thanks to this episode (all for the sole purpose of trying to one-up Windows NT, I might add), Sun's credibility and chances to become a standards body have been diminished :)
