11/19/10 Update
Although the broad market was smacked up and down as the warp speed computer gamers fought it out, it finished the week almost exactly where it started. But biotechs did manage to survive the battle with a small gain.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 10.97% YTD (vs. up 10.98% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 9.05% YTD (vs. up 7.26% YTD a week ago), while the Contest median was up 7.13% YTD (vs. up 6.58% YTD a week ago).
ROCKY’s portfolio (up 41.82% YTD) remained in the lead, but second place FILO’s portfolio (up 38.33% YTD) has moved within striking distance. DEWDIL's portfolio (up 32.43% YTD) held on to third place.
At Friday's close, 22 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 15 of the 32 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments:
1) NZYM.OB buyout by W.R. Grace at $1.163286. I used 11/19/10 closing prices for reallocation.
2) TKM.TO began trading on the Nasdaq Monday under the TKMR symbol. I switched the symbol to TKMR on my spreadsheet.
3) LGND did 1-6 reverse split.
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
