Luanda – The Chinese Vice President, Xi Jinping, on Friday in Luanda highlighted the good level of the relations his country has with Angola, whose financing agreements have now reached USD 10 billion.

He explained that the commercial exchanges totalised USD 19.8 billion in the first nine months of 2010, which shows an increase of 80.8 per cent in comparison to the same period in 2009.

The visiting official gave these figures at the opening of the official talks between both countries’ ministerial delegations, which aim to sign co-operation agreements in the fields of infrastructures construction, minerals exploration and supply of railways equipment.

Xi Jinping, who is in Luanda for a two-day official visit, singled out the fact that the loan agreements totalised 10 billion US dollars and considered the implantation of Angolan firms in his country, like the public oil firm Sonango, as a new chapter in the Sino-Angolan relations.

Speaking at the ceremony that was also attended by the Angolan Vice President, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the Chinese official pointed out culture, education, civil aviation, public health, environmental protection and justice as new areas that can serve to boost the bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, China promoted this month the Macau Forum for Economic and Commercial Co-operation between China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries, in which was approved an action plan aimed at strengthening the economic and commercial relations with the Portuguese speaking countries, in the next three years.
