Nov 22, 1963 was our generation's 9/11, entirely different, but the same in National horror. None of us could imagine anyone killing the President of the United States, no matter his politics. Vivid memories of that ghastly time will remain as fresh in our minds as those of 9/11 are today. All of us can remember what we were doing that entire very long weekend. We were all glued to the TV and the images that were played out there. It was surreal.
We had three little ones under 3 at the time. I dealt with their needs, but the TV was always on in the background.
