I hope not. Oil spiking over 100$ in 2008 was a major contributor to the financial meltdown and global recession that followed.

Oil has been in a 70-85$ range since mid-2009, which is high enough to encourage alternative energy, but low enough not to cause a recession. Perfect, and I hope it stays that way.

If oil spikes well above $100, I'll sell my BP and FSLR into that rally, and go to 100% cash and gold.
