Limits on federal power, don't amount to an excuse for, or support of, the activity that the feds might otherwise regulate. An activity can be quite negative, perhaps even vile, but still not be the proper subject for federal control. We are a nation of limited government. The constitution particularly limits the federal government. It does not allow the federal government to do whatever it wants, just because it wants to, even if the activity it would act against is wrong or bad for the country. Supporting keeping the governments within those limits is quite civilized, even admirable. Defending freedom and limited government is not vile.
