Fortunately or unfortunately, I have concerns about suicide on personal and religious grounds. Similarly, I have problems with assisting with suicide and/or abortion.

These are two common debate topics, with spirited arguments on both sides; and these are issues that will remain unresolved for a long time to come.

I have a friend who is on your side of the argument; and he is even a member of the Hemlock Society. Oh yes, he has his death kit on hand and is prepared for the day. Possibly someone who plans for suicide is apt to become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

There are many down-side arguments ranging from religious beliefs (for those of us with visions of the "Inferno") to concern for emotionally injured family members who will be left behind.

You know we're all destined for the bone heap someday, and with increasing age comes increasing dysfunction -- So without a God-fearing-loving mind set, I'm wondering why some of these suicidal-bent nuts don't simply pull the trigger now. Why live through almost guaranteed future suffering?
