A) You got a link I can turn to (to look at the entire - not excised - set of remarks)? Would be helpful! B) I would personally argue that China is a command-driven AUTHORITARIAN State now, (not any longer very much a Communist one). Not since the Party officially adopted the slogan that "to get rich is glorious" several decades ago and opened the economy to Capitalist imperatives. <GGG> Yes, the ruling clique wants to MAINTAIN IT'S HOLD OVER POLITICAL POWER. Very much so! (But they have that in common with ALL Authoritarian systems.... The ruling elites want to perpetuate their hold on the reins of power. But very little is left of standard Communist ideology in their actions any longer --- just airy and vapid restatings of slogans, more like homilies really..., that everyone knows are meaningless and not to be taken seriously.) Give them another two decades and there won't be any remnant of Communism left in their system. Still probably Authoritarian though, (tight central control over political power is very 'Chinese'... fits into their history very well....)
