The only one who has lived up to the billing is Carrie Underwood, who is excellent.

Fantasia was a great singer but couldn't make a career. Kathryn McPhee, who was a first-rate singer but lost to a horrible but more popular choice, has produced two lousy albums that failed because they were poorly produced.

But in your intense denseness, you have missed the point. Which is that these shows are not reflections of ability or talent, rather, of sheer popularity.
