Judy,

Didn't you receive my e-mail on this subj yesterday ? I told you MER is tanking and I dont like it a bit. I even posted TT about that.

I dont have Ike's deep insight of what is going on, all I am looking at are a few very straight forward indicators. Layman's approach works better for me.

There are old sayings about watching GE, GM & MER to find market direction.

Brokerage stocks historically lead the market by 6 months. Now with all so compressed, it may only be 1-3 months. Nonetheless, MER has lost ground big since Monday. Told OJ to watch out based on MER's action when answered his exerburant e-mail.

By the way, historically from top to bottom takes anywhere from 3 to 10 months with average time 6 months. Our top is in Aug.

The quickest top to bottom was in 1990. We slided down 20% from sep/oct and rebounded big jan 1991 (gulf war). Other times, 6 months are the nom.
