I have to agree with you Jeff. I'm still long...called in my certs even. I think that the news about John Williams SHOULD have been factored in but there are a lot of people in the stock market who think that DD is a quick lookover of a stat sheet faxed to them by their broker! I'm not going anywhere, I wish that I could afford twenty times the amount of shares that I have! I will be interested in who they get to replace Mr. Williams though...I am sure that OZON will continue on the forward course they are on...It would take a lot more than this unexpected trip to the high 1's to shake my faith! The only question seems to be will it be a rocket? Or simply a fast moving train. As far as the shorts are concerned, I hope that they get fried on this! I think that anyone who would short a stock with this much potential, and persistance, is taking foolish chances with money and deserves to get burned when the stock does go up. This is why I always call my certs on the stocks I hold long. Usually when a brokerage holds your certs in house, they can and often do use those certs against you by loaning them to the shorters. Anything they do along these lines is legal if it is in the contract signed in the opening of your account. A clause providing for this is USUALLY in the agreement! Holding a good stock long? Want to keep the shorters from borrowing your stock? Simple, CALL FOR YOUR CERTS! You do not lose liquidity after you hold the physical certificates as you can submit a sell order and have FIVE DAYS TO COVER! That is why I call for my certs if I find what I consider such a rare gem of a company. I believe that anything in economics ultimately can be broken into two simple components SUPPLY and DEMAND. Those in my opinion are the true basic building blocks of our entire economic infrastructure despite its extreme complexity. I for one will not have my shares avalable to be lent to shorters. I am not giving any advice on this...Only my humble opinion. I merely mean to say in a nutshell, the shorters are fortunate that they have control of so much of the float of any company, insomuch as if more of the shares of those companies were held close to the vest of the long term investors, the shorters would have many less shares to borrow, and the stock price of those companies could only be helped. Just my opinion. Please do not misconstrue this as advice. I only mean to provide an insight into my way of thinking.
