Actually some folks do move to all these states. More important, old people don't leave there as often as they do places like NY, MI, and CA. SI folks who live or have lived in CA often remark on their plans to move when they retire. And some already have - like Ted and Chris. The states you mention are low cost places to live. Ditto AL, NC, SC, FL, TX, - all the southern states.
