Brumar, what a surprise that the NYTimes would be defending the TSA on this. If a Republican were president, they'd be complaining just as loudly as Mike Huckabee is.

However, the NYTimes is correct in saying that the terrorists will recruit whoever doesn't fit the profile that the TSA is looking for. Maybe an elderly white woman could be the next shoebomber. You never know.

Maybe there's wisdom in taking the war on terrorism to the Middle East.

Either that or we'll just have to live with random acts of terrorism in crowded areas. Like Times Square or Grand Central Station. I'll bet some NYTimes employees go through there everyday. Maybe they're willing to be "vigilant" and look out for suspicious types hiding explosives underneath their coats.
