Here's how it works -

The data files are merged on the fly from 3 different loctions

1 - the cd
2 - the disk buffer
3 - the local database

The disk buffer is an image of what's on the cd. It's never updated after you transfer it to your hard drive.

The local data files are updated every day. When we ship 2 cd,s the dates match - for example the data on the cd goes from 1-1-90 or 1-1-92 to 6-11-97. The local data files run from 6-12 to the last time you updated.

In R2, we never delete any data from your hard drive.

If you have a gap from 6/12 to 7/1, then your local data files probably got corrupted. Run the rebuild program in the r2 program directory - it will rebuild the indexes in your local directory. That might fix it, if not, then you'll need a new cd.

We will not be creating any more 16 bit cd's so you'll have to wait for the 32 bit version if your files are corrupted.
