>Denial of personhood to some human beings -- to Jews, to blacks, to women, to unborn children -- is profound evil, and is the same evil. <

Imo this is a cheap trick.
It is possible and quite plausible for thinking, caring people to take issue with your simplistic logic.

1) I also believe that a fertilized ovum is alive. Is it human? I say "not yet".
2) I believe that a fetus that is viable outside the womb - roughly beginning with the seventh month of gestation - is a person and deserves the rights ascribed to a person.
3) But I reject the identity of "aliveness = personhood". It strikes me as glib and having only one purpose - to put abortion partisans on the same moral footing as Nazi or Chicom doctors. I find that to be incorrect, misleading and inflammatory. It does not brook informed dissent.

I can see why you would insist on your terminology. It demonizes abortion as unconditional murder. Ultimately it does so without any independent philosophical grounding. It is a concealed way of saying "My belief requires that I oppose abortion, and the following logical construct makes that very easy." But as a coonstruct ist is far more vulnerable to destruction - by good, honest. caring humans - than it appears at first glance.
Jmo, naturally.
