Report: Hollywood studios are taking a new line on Netflix

Once the darling of the Hollywood studios, Netflix has grown so fast and so aggressively that, according to this report, top executives at three of the six major movie houses are looking at ways to slow the popular DVD rental service. The executives and their teams apparently are looking at several options that range from raising their pricing on digital programming to delaying the time at which Netflix can make DVDs available to consumers. Separately, Netflix announced a deal with FilmDistrict that will give the company access to FilmDistrict titles before they arrive on pay TV, but after they are available on DVD.
