Let's talk about what Governor Christie is know for thus far. Attacking teachers

Attacking the bloated public education budget, and the idea that it should be exempt from the cost of dealing with the horrible fiscal situation NJ got itself in to with its overspending. Generally in this country education costs have about doubled, in real per student terms, per generation. In New Jersey the educational establishment is more expensive than most. Its important to reign in such costs, which previously had continued to expand seemingly without limit.

reduced municipal aid

...cancelled the tunnel project

In other words cut spending

All told New Jersey has lost a Billion dollars all at the hands of this brilliant charismatic statesman we now consider to be presidential material.

I'm not arguing for him as president at this time, but the "loss" of a billion dollars comes with saving a lot of other money, and its not a true loss, it just having less federal money (some of which would come from the citizens and businesses of New Jersey) from being spent in New Jersey. Government at all levels has to reign in spending, and that federal money mostly comes with a level of federal control, and requirements for state spending.
