Hi Doug: I think I "registered" at the Morningstar site but didn't take out any paid membership. Once registered, one can use fund filters for lists of international funds, or click on the "RESEARCH" button at the top of the page, then, on the left, type in the first word of the fund family (e.g. Fidelity) and dot the correct choice above it and then a list of links to them all will appear. Easy once you do it. Once you are at a particular fund, there is a link showing you its portfolio holdings. Some fund family websites allow the same sort of info (e.g. Putnam) .If you continue to have trouble, e-mail me and maybe we can figure it out, or I'll look up something in particular for you. As for NOVARTIS,
see some of the previous postings in this regard (especiallly Chuck Edwards'). Swiss stocks are weird . . . they don't like to disclose all the information required in the U.S. to trade on the exchanges like everybody else. But all it really means is that they are more difficult to follow. They do trade as ADRs over the counter (pink sheets) for any broker to buy, and the daily ADR price for NVTSY is available at www.stockmaster.com and www.bigcharts.com and also at www.hoovers.com. Also, you can call your web broker and request that the symbol be added. Visit the Novartis website and order an annual report. It is an impressive web site and company. Fidelity's current Investors Monthy newsletter (a friend's . . . I don't use Fidelity) profiles European stocks, recommending Swiss stocks and Novartis in particular. Everybody seems to expect great things from it. I am buying shares as soon as payday rolls around.
