I read an article somewhere that tiles are made now that
contain solar panels so that one does not have to put
an excess of anything on a roof. I had a series of hoses once
interlocking that heated a swimming pool at a beach home.

But it was easily destroyed had a hurricane hit.

Not too expensive either.

But if the roof needed repair, the hoses were in jeopardy.
