My Netbook appears to have picked up a virus or some Malware. It stopped working last week when we were in Seattle (after Erika had been using it). Could not get it to boot for a time. Now it boots and I keep getting these false virus messages advising that a threat was detected and "do you want to activate your antivirus software?" It appears to have hijacked my browswer and keeps opening Windows Explorer pages (I never use Explorer) with addresses such as porno.org, porno.com, viagra.org. I have the wireless adapter turned over so it won't connect to any sites or download anything.

Whatever it is appears to be interfering with my virus scan that I am trying to run. I also tried running Spybot but it seems to interfere with that. Looks like I'm going to have to take it into the shop.

People who write this crap ought to be taken out behind the barn and shot.
