Here's some context on Jefferson's "God is just" comment:

"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: That his justice cannot sleep for ever: that considering numbers, nature and natural means only, a revolution of the wheel of fortune, an exchange of situation, is among possible events: that it may become probable by supernatural interference!"

He was speaking of slavery of course, expressing the view that supernatural interference would end slavery in time. Some people think thats what happened.

And the topic was Jefferson, not Newton....

Actually the topic was religious intellectuals - Jefferson and Newton are just two examples.

Newton was a religious wack job....

And he was a great scientific mind.

So I guess there's one example of a made up story by you...

No, I didn't make up anything about Isaac Newton and btw you just accepted my claim that Newton was religious - ie a wackjob in your words.

And Jefferson never claimed he was a Christian...

Here the topic was whether he was a religious intellectual. He was. Insisting he wasn't a Christian is beside the point.
