How much should a single mother with 2 kids, and no insurance, making $6 an hour have to pay

Well if you are asking a generic tax question, I go beyond flat to fixed tax. I think every individual should pay the same tax, say $1500.00 , regardless of income.

Just because I earn more income does not mean I use more government services. Pay for use makes much more sense.

Property tax is different and should be a percent of the value of the property.
