I know the feeling though I never got burned that badly. But after we would build them we had to test them and even short exposure over multiple builds could burn you. We did wear goggles.

I worked for the company for about 10 years and we sold lots of the lights, including hospitals.

The biggest user was the food industry, especially soda bottlers who would put the lights in tanks where the drinks were mixed.
