No, I do not want to force anyone. However, as a concerned citizen I will exercise my right to try to convince at least some of my fellow voters to THINK about some issues, ideally "outside the box" of doctrine andor ideology.

So yes, when you seek to saddle me with a penchant for coercion, you are trying to make me look like some sort of groupthink myrmidon imo.

"needs and cares" I see my mistake. This looks like I am espousing social democracy when that was not on my mind. Judges administer the law, and the law is supposed to tend to the welfare of the citizenry. use the word broadly (rights codified and defended, responsibilities spelled out and structured) and you should find a mutually-acceptable view of what judges do.
I do think that the system we have in the current Republic of appointing (as opposed to electing) the highest jurists in the land has real merit. When I look at the molasse of law-type product that comes out of Californnia's state referenda, i despair of the general voting populace's understanding of the most basic things.
