The chance of both you and the ghost knowing sign language would be fairly small, one would think. You did say you tried to talk to him. The spoken word was a natural assumption. You did not indicate whether his lack of cooperation was due to inability or reluctance. But perhaps you did not have a sufficient read on the ghost child to make such a determination…
