There is a fashion lately to use violent figures of speech. Rap is an aggressive "art". There seems to be generally a trend in a direction I dislike. But on the other hand there are phenomenal improvements [not just technologically but socially such as over a billion people in China enjoying a vastly improved standard of living]. It's nearly 20 years since the USSR fell apart. Wars used to be a dime a dozen and now they are few and far between. The Yugoslavian effort was small compared with many others of the 20th century.
