It has already been said on this thread that speciation as a natural phenomenon is not currently understood to the point that a plausible, falsifiable theory/mechanism therefor can be formulated.

Thats why I would object to using the theory word.

Biology, incl. molecular and evolutionary biology, is a remarkably young science. It doesn't currently have handy answers for some of the bigs. That is not any reason to toss out what has already been achieved.

No one wants to. The more we learn, the more amazing we learn life is. For the last century, its been scientific advances that have pushed forward the view of the universe as designed. The less we know the easier it is to credit lucky accidents for everything.
