I hope I have not claimed to understand it. I have an above-average helping of scientific literacy, and I used to do biological chemistry as a profession. Maybe it is a mistake of personal pride that makes me feel qualified to participate in the discussion.

I am keenly aware of the subjective and contingent nature of all human knowledge. That is why your post impressed me. Perhaps you are not alone in being a thread oddball? The accusations leveled my way that I am part of some sort of liberal Borg Collective are somewhat exaggerated.
