If that's the game Chinu it is pretty convoluted. The Bush tax cuts are much of the reason we are in this budget mess, and they can be much of the solution to get us out. Obama should have stood up and drawn a line in the sand... people respect that. He has the status quo, if nothing happens the cuts expire, a perfect negotiating position. He should have just done nothing ... ... ... waited until the Republicans got real nervous and then said "I'm going on vacation for a week, lets talk when I get back". That's how you negotiate with people who really, really, really hate taxes. Most important, politics aside, letting the cuts expire for higher incomes is a VERY important thing to do for the country.
