simon, I was thinking about short term stuff, but I don't really know much about it. I'm going to check it out because i have some cash here that i'd like to deploy in a sort of interim fashion while whatever happens with the market happens. I guess i should admit that i got a little carried away with my cola shmola but i've recently begun a novel about small town america, hence the flag-waving. could have been a good testimonial at a coke retirement dinner anyway. Thanks for your concern; i'm really a bit more hard-headed about my investments but this is a moment when it's difficult to know exactly what to do with investments that may to some extent be "mature". I'm definitely going to research treasuries in the next week. Definitely believe we have some more upside though maybe at a slower pace. I do own GE, by the way. dulane
